I may have mentioned this before but in about 2010 I phoned the Caravan Club site at Cherry Hinton, Cambridge, to book a pitch. They asked me the make of my motorhome. When I told them they said "That's OK, but if you had had a Hobby we wouldn't let you stay here." Apparently, they had had an invasion of travellers a few weeks earlier and it had resulted in a terrible mess being left behind and great difficulty in getting rid of them. Having observed that most of the caravans were Hobbys the Caravan Club decided to ban them.
