I want to remove the factory fitted Microwave from my Bolero as it is too high up and too heavy for something that is used infrequently, anyone know of a smaller low wattage microwave suitable for Motorhomes, one that we could take only when required and we could store lower down.?

We have one of these Daewoo 600W microwave ovens. It is very compact and does the job.:thumb:
Size H22.9 x W42.4 x D31.6cm (11¾ x 16½ x 12¼").

I made a fitting so that it easily goes (well secured) into the overhead locker above the kitchen area adjacent to a 240V socket, as they take up a lot of worktop space if just free standing.

It can be easily removed in two minutes if not required.

It is also available in Pink........

The Boxed weight is quoted at 12kg. It feels lighter, and probably is.
It has a very low height profile which is good for our van.

I'm not sure what an average Microwave weighs to be honest.
I can lift this in an out of our overhead locker very easily if I have to.

It does the job for us though, and we have been using it for over 3 years.:thumb:

Any chance of a picture of that fitting please. I've just ordered one for our motorhome and wanted to take a look at what you have done :thumb:

I have not weighed my Daewoo from the M/H, but it's very heavy, I will have to weigh it out of curiosity, nearly gave me a hernia when I took it out today. :thumb:

I'm still away at work at the moment for the next couple of weeks.

We took it out when we went round Europe this summer for 6 weeks, no need for a Micro when its BBQ weather.

I will refit it when I get home and try to remember and post a pic.....

im a bit of a cheapskate as i haven't bothered to buy a brand name microwave to replace the tesco branded one the previous owner left in. its small size, low weight and 700watt. nothing posh but does what we ask of it. lives in a locker in the dinette area when not being used
