There is now a remote control available for those having problems with their Stikeback/Growler non starter it costs £50 for limited time including delivery and programming. You need to call

I've never had a problem with mine.
Is there a suggestion there might be?

I guess a remote control for the immobiliser could be helpful....

I was stuck when I could not get a mobile phone signal to disable the immobiliser when on a site earlier this year. We had a signal when we arrived and immobilised the engine but 4 days later - nothing....

Thankfully got hold of Vanbitz(after cycling 1 mile to make the call to them) who told me how to bypass the immobiliser and get us running

The meta track works, I understand, using mobile phone signals.
Does the remote control use the mobile network or create it's own local mobile signal.
Well over to the guru's at Vanbitz is this something that we should be investing in?

Seems like a bit of a stupid idea having to use your phone to disable the immobiliser. What happens if you loose your phone or it runs out of juice or you don't have a phone signal which seems to be very common in the Uk out in the sticks.

Perhaps they should give you the remote instead of it being an optional extra.

I had a message directly on my Meta trak app telling me about this remote so it is a genuine remote designed for the non starter as apparently there have been a few who have had problems(y)(y)(y)
Check your app for messages.

Uses the mobile network to signal the arm/disarm a different way than just sending a radio signal, hopefully something that the criminals can't get around, you can also disarm from anywhere, you don't need to be next to the MH.
If you could lose your phone you could also lose your controller, especially if it's in the same bag. The advantage of a phone is you can download the app on another phone, password etc and off you go, also partner has the app on her phone.
If your phone is out of power, plug it in and then enable/disable the system.
If you are in an area of no signal you can't disable the ignition in the first place, only problem was if the signal drops out after disabling the ignition.
Possibly a controller is belt and braces.

It was intended to guard against key theft, particularly by burglary of your home whilst the MH is parked outside. The phone method makes it a lot more secure, but I think a few people have been caught out by setting it away from home in poor signal areas and then finding that they have no signal when they want to drive off.

If you have a radio fob to disarm it, you need to make sure that you don't keep it with your ignition keys as that rather defeats the object.

It is designed to,avoid key theft and cloning

My camper at home is locked and alarmed, if someone breaks in and nicks my keys, they still can’t start the engine without the phone, which is always with me.

We have had a non network override for a while now and people have asked us to offer to upgrade the existing Non Starters systems.

Dammed if we do, Dammed if we don’t

Never mind Eddie there are lots of us happy customers, I think it’s a good idea but I’ve never had a problem with ours so not going to bother with remote.(n)(n)(n)(y)

It really isn’t for everyone, but, it’s there, and sending a message direct to the device ensures everyone knows about it.

It’s a great idea I got my message as soon as I check the app this evening but I suppose not everyone checks them regularly?(n)

I didn't need to check the app. The message just came up as a notification on my screen in the same way as an alarm activation or event notification from the MH (y) I think you might have to add the app to priority alerts on Android. Can't remember now, but that's how mine has always worked.

Yes mine came up on my iPad first(y)

Our two phones are on different networks. If EE doesn’t play, hopefully 3 will.

If eddy knows how to over ride the non starter that suggests its not a non starter

I had to call them 2 weeks ago when i couldnt get the engine to unblock, they did it remotely in the end and then sent me a free device to do it myself which they said they usually charge for. No idea why they gave it to me with no charge but i wasnt about to complain as now i have it so if i cant unblock it i just push a button on the remote :)

if eddy can do it so can scumbags
Well lets just find a thief that has specialised in motorhomes for 30 years, that employs four technicians that take motorhomes to pieces and get inventive, for a living and yes you may find a scumbag that could.

My record for MMM was break in and hotwire in under 20 seconds

Of course the question that you should be asking is who, having had a Non Starter has had a motorhome stolen? I of course know the answer

Would it be nobody by any chance?
