Can anyone tell me if you can extend the standard 3 year warranty on a new van to 5 years at purchase, similar to Fiat? Can see on the Mercedes site that you can buy a warranty on a yearly basis when 3 years expires but nothing on 5 years from new.

thank you
Bill

If its a Hymer on a sprinter it is only two years warranty from new.

Mercedes do a 30 year warranty.

The Mobilo cover looks pretty good, used it about 3 weeks ago when we broke down on the the slip road from M4 to M25, on a Sunday night, a full lift recovery to Heathrow Mercedes and the auto box wiring loom repaired (had melted on the exhaust) by the MB tech, who had arranged for the workshop to be opened up, we were on our way home in 3 hours, if they were not able repair it they would have put us up in a Heathrow hotel.
The only requirement is a full MB service history.

As long as your last service was at Mercedes I think you are covered. That's what they told me.

So you're seriously thinking of the Wildax Elara then?

Paul, oh yes, met with Duncan the (ex) owner at the Scottish show. My big issues were about weights and rear axle in particular. Between Duncan, Mick at SAP and SV Tech all resolved. Mercedes can only be fitted with rear air but that does the trick. Rear wheel drive and full 7 speed auto the attraction. Waiting to confirm that the extras on base and conversion can be done, not as easy as dealing with IH. Interestingly the tax is £265, no new regime due to Mercedes registering it as a heavy chassis??
Current van going back to IH on a swap deal if we go ahead. Just as well I didn’t retire but went back to work for HSBC!!
