Lots now
Weird one for you knowledgeable funsters.
Yesterday premium motorhomes upgraded our over cooker fan system to a maxxfan one as the original fitted one kept breaking.
This maxxfan one is so much better unfortunately everytime I change channels it beeps on the fan and when I turn off the TV it turns the fan off.
What can I do other than cover up the receiver on the fan and just use the buttons on the fan and not use the fans remote control.

As funny as I found that Gareth, I did make a call for you.

It turns out there is a batch of circuit boards from the end of last year where the IR frequency hasn’t been set so the fan will react to any IR remote.

Just send an email to dan@leisurevehicleservices.com with your serial number he’ll send a replacement circuit board out.

I have emailed this information to premium motorhomes but as yet not received anything back. (It's there job to sort it not mine)

How did you get on with this? I've just discovered I have the same problem!

Ahhh interesting! I have the same thing with the recent Maxxfan and my Cello TV. See anything an avtex tv can do, a Cello can :LOL::LOL:

I'll pop an email to those guys too. Is the replacement circuit board for the remote though or for the fan?

I would imagine it's for the fan

Thanks all. Anyone know how difficult it is to replace?

The replacement circuit board arrived today. Sent by courier, really well packaged.

It came with step-by-step printed instructions, in colour, showing exactly what to do. Unscrew this, unplug that, put this cable here, connect that, screw back this, etc.

It's fiddly though, and your arms get weak working above your head. Still, it only took 25 mins, and I can now change channel without the fan wanting to get involved.

Do you know if all maxxair fans are affected …has the board been replaced on new stock already?

My understanding is that this affected a batch. Mine was ordered maybe two months ago, so I assume it's a fairly recent issue.

If you're looking to buy one, my advice would be to test it before you fit it. You'll find replacing the board very easy if it's not installed (not that it was difficult anyway)
