Maxxfan and Avtex TV conflict

I've just put the Avtex connected TV in the van, turned it on with the remote... and the maxxfan opened up and started whirring

Mess about the with the remote, either Avtex or Firestick, and the Maxxfan beeps, opens, etc.

Any ideas on the solution to this channel conflict?
