I have installed a Maxxair 400 x 400 and is very effective, however the remote goes through a set of quality Alkaline AAA x 2 in around 4 weeks. Roughly the time between each of our trips currently, it does not seem to sleep, which in this day an age is poor. Anybody else experienced this or should I chase up the supplier?

The display does drop back to a single black line 3/4 of the way up the screen.

Still on my first set. Must be three years plus. I don’t use the thermo option which maybe more thirsty.

Thanks all, will contact my supplier and see what they suggest.
Ours recently installed drops a battery segment very quickly but hasn’t gone down any more yet in 4 weeks but will keep an eye on it.

Just an update, emailed Magnum Motorhomes who replied very quickly. They gave me the link to Leisure Vehicle Services who are the main UK agents. Filled in their online, very detailed form and sent a photo of the receipt, they replied very quickly and sent out a new remote. Received after the bank holiday, now we wait and see.
All in all very pleased:giggle: with the response on both counts.

Nearly on topic. How close to the fan do you have to hold the remote to use it?

Mine won't work (squeak) if much more than a metre away.

We have ours in its holder on the wall. Both the old and new one will turn the unit on and off from there, probably 1.2mtrs at 45 degrees. It's not directly pointing at it.

The remote only sends signals it does not receive so it only consumes power when in use ( awake) and a tiny amount when asleep if working correctly.

Are they left in the remote inbetween periods of van use ??
Yes. The remote batteries are the original ones that are left in all the time.

You can set a target temperature from the remote. But it also displays the current temperature. I don't think that's coming from a sensor in the remote is it? It implies the fan unit transmits a temperature...
