Maxview Satellite no power to control unit

Can anyone please help! Maxview dish has got stuck on Heki!, silly design, managed to free it, but no power to the maxview unit! Changed the 3amp fuse to the front but still no power? Any ideas please currently on site in Keswick with dish stuck up. Thanks so much in anticipation

Rob is my son and i’m also trying to help him, atm he’s trying to source a meter and possibly a ladder

I’ve explained he needs a meter to see if he has a feed at the psu supply lead behind the Maxview control unit, afaik all the fuses have been checked and look to be fine

The dish is this one, same as I had on my Comanche, the LNB housing is a different design but I think the motor and control box/wiring is the same.

Hi as you say Allan the first thing is to see if there is power to the control box.

I have a Oystertech system so do not know the maxview control box. How do your lower the dish normally, is the does the box have an interface or any lights on?

The advice from the maxview site is to loosen the two 17mm bolts which will allow you to lower the dish. This does not fix the problem just lets you get away with the dish safe. Otherwise the advice is to totally remove the dish by unfastening the M6 nuts and removing.

it sounds like getting jammed has overloaded the circuit and blown the supply fuse. Any lights on the control box? Check if there is a fuse beside it if not. Then work back towards the main 12v fuseboard

The maxview installation guide shows an inline 5a fuse in the 12v supply, this is outside the control box and could be blown. That is why it is important to establish wether there is power or not. There is also a signal from the ignition (the green wire) that lowers the dish if the engine is turned on.

Afaik the control box has no lights on so i’m going to assume it has no power going to it, this is what i’ve ask Rob to check first.

He’s checked the exterior fuse on the front panel which appears to be ok, I'm not sure if it has an internal one hence asking Lee Rasberry from Maxview to offer some help if he can

The dish is controlled via a button on the front of the controller

Update

we’ve established that the control box has no supply going to it, i’ve asked our Rob to remove the Sargent unit and follow the 3 wire harness back to it and see if he can see an inline fuse along its length which i’m assuming will be blown

5amp fuse located and found to be blown, same replaced and the dish is working fine so crisis overted

in the wiring loom as it comes away from the Sargent unit, it’s only a couple of feet long so easy to locate
