In the Ardeche at the Mo and then Sommiere next.
Would like a quick look at Marseille before heading north.
Anyone know of a good Aire nearby, to visit Marseille for the day. Can’t see any campsites in the area?
Cheers
Oh, and by the way of a weather update it’s melting down here. Sitting on mid to high 30’s all day from 10.00 till 1800🥵

Great aire at Carro, walk to La Courrone for train to Marseille.

In any case, whatever place you find campsite or aire make sure you do not stay IN Marseille. Be careful with your belongings. When having a drink outside , mind your bag Madam, and your purse Sir, or your phones in your rear pocket!
Pickpockets waiting for you in the street, in buses or underground! You've been warned!

Avoid the motorway aire as we got robbed there and was told by the police it is rife in their area.

Marseille is the only place in France that I actually avoided and went around it because of what I’d heard about it and I don’t frighten easily… just didn’t want the hassle. I don’t normally do cities anyway….😎

Good advice and I would always defer to local knowledge, but don’t let it put you off. We’ve stayed at Carro several times and twice visited Marseille old port and town without any incident or unsafe feeling. Plenty of tourists around doing touristy stuff. Visiting to watch my football team play Marseille was however a different experience.
