I'm a newbie
I'm looking for information about Manual conversion to Automatic, as I have bad ankles, and sometimes its painful to keep pressing the clutch down, has anyone had it done. I can't afford to change my motorhome.
Cheers Martin

Cost prohibitive.
It would need so many alterations.
Even a 'box already set up for it needs modifications.

No idea if they do anything for larger vehicles but worth a call

There was a company that fitted an electric push button clutch not an expensive convertion. You still changed gear but didn't press the clutch pedal..I can use all the gears on my van without the clutch once I pull away .BUSBY.

I had a Peugeot based motorhome fitted with one of these and it was great...
He came to my house and demonstrated it with a drive out and about.... £1400+vat but I didn’t pay vat as disabled..👍🏼

There are companies that fit conversions for hand control of clutch and footbrake for disabled people.
I have a hand press-button electric clutch adaptation made by Kliktronic on one of my motorbikes.
My late uncle who had no legs had hand operated brake and accelerator on his his Gov't Motability car.
Just Google for 'vehicle hand controls'
Here's a guide:

It says:
On this page we will just give you an idea of the adaptations available.

push/pull hand control for acceleration and braking

• For people who cannot operate foot controls there are push/pull hand controls which are fitted within reach of the steering wheel and allow the user to operate the accelerator and brakes with their hands.

These systems can be placed on either side of the wheel and tailored to the user’s exact requirements.

If you do not want an automatic transmission then you can have a gear stick which automatically engages the clutch when you change gear.

I’ve been broken down in France For a week now with fiat comfort-matic auto problems
right now I’d swap you gearboxes 🤕

if you have hydraulic clutch ans servo brakes you could fit a remote brake servo to the clutch line to reduce pedal effort

Auto Clutch?. Based up around Preston.? They demonstrated it for SWMBO, for use on our Shogun, back in the 1990`s?. In the end we bought a car with an Automatic gearbox, Astra, and swapped the caravan for an R-V. The clutch change switch is built into the Gear Lever.

It took a little while to get used to it as I haven’t driven a manual for forty years but once mastered it was ok... but I do have a push/pull hand control for brake and accelerator too and going around some roundabouts I needed 3 hands...😆

Robotised Manual Gearboxes

That’s why Mercedes ditched SprintShift and handed it down to VW for their Mercedes Built Crafter. And why VW have ditched it now. Along with Iveco and Fiat no longer using this type of Gearbox.

Even ford use a real auto now !
