3 years late on our ferry booking, but finally arrived at Bilbao on the 2 night Salamanca crossing. Really smooth, ship was great, food good, but don’t like being given a dining time, feels like I’m at Butlins!
Off the boat first, on the road by 9am and arrived at Mataro at 3.30pm, easy journey down, 400miles, tank of diesel and parked up at Camping Barcelona.
Just having lunch/dinner at the the marina, it’s a fine life!

We stayed there for one night. Ate in the campsite restaurant, and had the best steak I’ve ever eaten.
I think it was rosé veal?

Our local farmer keeps his bull calves for a year, eating grass instead of sending them off to the abattoir at birth, and sells them as rosé veal. It’s lovely to see the calves with their mums in the field.

Have a lovely Hollibobs!

Site is a lot more expensive than it was pre-Covid, it’s approx 40 euros a night including 10amp electric and own water/waste.
Pretty full tonight, but we only booked on the way here this morning.
Free bus to town centre runs every 30mins and camp bus to Barcelona is about 5 euros I think.

Blimey, that’s gone up. We used ACSI for about 24 € plus free Barcelona shuttle..

We stayed at Camping Barcelona a couple of weeks ago so we could visit Barcelona and loved our stay there. We had a lovely meal at the marina in Mataro, but wasn’t to impressed with the town.

I'll second that, had a steak last night.
More like a Fillet than Sirloin.
Fantastic.

I must be odd one out, had the sirloin last night and wasn’t brilliant, might have just been the cut. The thing that got me the most though is the service, pretty slap dash for a Spanish place, normally I commend the service levels in Spanish restaurants but not here, and whilst good location with good bus links etc I think the price is a bit steep compared to other Spanish sites we have been on. Still nice, but a little expensive

We are staying at Camping Estrella de Mar from tomorrow for 3 nights.
Hope you enjoying your time.
🍻😎
We heading south towards home tomorrow on an aire at Casablanca - much more out scene 😎

Casablanca as the movie.....😏
😎🍻

We got booted out first lockdown. Only there 3 nights before they were ordered to close! Girls in Reception very helpful.. Food great, no beach access though. Great Small Supermarket next to bar.
