I'm a newbie
Just had a look under the back of my MH and not the chassis I was expecting to see

Has anyone had a towbar fitted to a chassis like this , it's got a 3ft extension after the springs

Anyone know the answer?

I've been having a look around , because it's pre 2012 it doesn't need a type approved towbar so I can get a towbar company to build something to fit

That's unlikely to happen then :D

I had one made to fit my Lunar with the same extensions, no problem at all made, supplied and fitted with electrics for £300 all in. Used a towbar specialist in Poole. Took it to them and they measured up. A few days later dropped the van off in the morning and collected in the afternoon, all done

As you say pre April 2012 not type approval so it will need to be fabricated.
A cheapskate job will see them just fix a bar to the extensions, not good. Sign of a good job will take the support back and onto the original Fiat chassis. (y)

I had quotes as high as £1200 for a similar bar, but was very happy with the quality I got. 2 box section bars all the way back to the chassis mounting points and a 3in, x 2in box section bar across the back with diagonal strengtheners to brace them and prevent flexing under load. It is not a particularly difficult or time consuming job for any metal fabricator and the steel cost is only about £30. Done right, the towbar will outlast the base vehicle

Mine is the same has no rear chassis rails need a tow bar made this one has 150 kg download on my pilote
