I have a built in petrol generator on my fifth wheel tow truck. Although the truck is diesel I have an external LPG filler point to fill gas bottles for my fiver. It would therefore make sense to convert the genny to LPG to save carrying 3 lots of fuel. I have noticed several kits to do just that appearing on ebay at around £20 for the kit. Normally I would steer well clear of these Chinese knock offs but having been delighted with my Chinese diesel heater I maybe tempted and not tell any members of the family I have broken our Chinese trade embargo. Have any Funsters succumbed to the temptation of buying such a kit ?.

Ooo, didn't know these kits existed. Where have you seen them, any links? I'd be tempted to try one, as you said, one less fuel to carry 👍

It does not seem to difficult to fit. A decent bike spanner and bed spanner and a five year old should be able to install it in an afternoon.

Although a different make, when I converted my Honda EU10i it was recommended to run it on petrol every 50 hours or so to lubricate parts that lpg doesn’t

Thanks for that, am looking at the dual fuel system, so should be good to go.

I wonder what can be lubricated with petrol? Burnt or unburnt.

Mmm, can't seem to find anything for a small Hyundai, everything seems to be for bigger Hondas

Several for the small Honda, Kipor and Hyundai on ebay. Most kits come with a new carburettor and I dread to think how much Honda would charge for a replacement carb.

The Honda kit comes with a plate that goes between the carb and the inlet and has a pipe from there to a diagram that delivers gas according to the vacum

do you have a link to the diesel heater please?

Is it air or water?

Over time the gas can leave a sticky residue, running on petrol for a short time cleans this away.

The one I bought a couple of years ago was under £90. There are loads of the things on ebay, all much the same. I have the air heater as I have the instant hot water system that uses little gas.

This should not be an issue as am looking at the dual fuel system.

I am sure a mate who runs his on gas said something about being difficult to start when it’s freezing.

I suppose you could start on petrol and the switch for the few times it would happen.
