When I bought my van in 2019 I rang them to ask if they had the model I was looking at in so we could come across and look at it. Never got an answer despite promises to ring me back.
So crossed the Pennines to the dark side to Emm-Bee in Bury who were the exact opposite, really went out of their way, so I spent £42k with them instead.

I've just had the same email. I wouldn't have been rushing back to buy another van from them anyway but it's closed the warranty route which could be a problem. I've fixed 95% of them myself anyway as their service was not supportive. So I've mixed feelings.

They're on a large plot rife for building land so it's not a big surprise.

The Gunthorpe site near Nottingham has just been fully refurbished and extended.
When we had to use them for service/warranty work I could never understand why they take Motorhomes off site to somewhere else when that site is so big.

Just to provide some balance here, my van came from Lowdhams Gunthorpe, and I am 100% satisfied with the service I received, including the recall work to fit the items that the factory didn't provide on delivery to UK. I had a courtesy car while the van was there, and when I subsequently travelled to Germany last December, my gas regulator failed, so I had it replaced whilst there, and all my costs for parts, labour etc. were reimbursed promptly without question when I returned to UK.

Good to hear you've had a good experience. Hopefully I won't have to draw upon the remaining site for any warranty work that manifests.

My judgement was based upon having to book in weeks in advance and then they wanted it for an entire week for a gas fridge valve problem. They left it until the last day to even look at it so if any parts had been needed then it would have been another week or rebook. So not my definition of customer focused service.

I remember when that site was Goodalls Caravans in the 1980's so it's a shame it's ended like it has.

I was a bit bored the other week so I thought I might go tyre kicking and mooch round only to find nothing there but a notice saying they were open for servicing and handovers. I reckon its going for housing.

I thought that's why they were expanding gunthorpe anyway, I believe they shut the cafe in the gunthorpe site as well.
I'm sure I read on here last year that huddersfield was going to shut 🤔 or did I imagine that 🤷‍♂️

It's been on the cards for at least 2 years

This is odd, They have just moved to brand new premises. Is it that the old site is closing?

Hi.
Bought three c/vans from Goodalls 80's,when saying about the helpfulness and good service ( AND the Cafe ) i was told.
" People who come all the way out here in all weathers, have not come just to kick tyres,so we know a deal could be on,the back up is the clincher.". Magic people to deal with in the day.
Tea Bag.

When we had ours serviced there late last year the staff confirmed the site was about to be sold for houses.

i am glad earlier this year I booked our service and gab checks at gunthorpe otherwise May struggle to have a manufacturer approve hab check.

For sales not service, this is the first notice that service was closing.
