Hi all

Been working on a plan to try some extended stays to see if I would like to go full time later next year.

Idea is to head down to Spain in a couple of weeks time mid November via Euro Tunnel taking a week or so to get there.

Then sped a month or so in and around Spain/Portugal coastal area. I know its a bit vague but I guess that will firm up on route.
Is that going to be an issue with nothing booked down there. I want to move about a bit maybe unless I get lucky somewhere. And I do want to stay on a secure sight.

I plan to tow a trailer down with my motorbike on to get around as I don't want to feel stranded and not being able to have a good look about. Could take the push bike but that would be limited as Im not Bradly Wiggins. Bit of hassle I know and cost on the tunnel but worth it I think.

I then plan to park the MH up at chris parking over xmas and fly home and then go back.

Unless I find at that point longer stay is not for me in which case I would drive back to the UK.

So thats the plan

Any views comments and suggestions would be helpful

Cheers
Graham

Check you Insurance most only let you leave MH unattended for 48 hours. We have just come back through France and the Aires we used had the water turned off. Depending on route SNOW on the French side of Pyrenees. Campsites from what we have heard are pretty much full in Spain. Lots of German MH’s down there.

Insurance is sorted so thats ok.
Snow i had thought could be an issue but hopefully not. Would do some checks prior to leaving etc
But busy sites down there I realise could be an issue.
Mmmm
Guess Im only looking for one spot though!

Doesn't help being a bit spontaneous and not a great one for committing to somewhere I don't know.
My issue i know
Spent the last 20 years motorbiking all over Europe and book nothing but I know its not the same

Hi, we have been plodding around northern Spain slowly heading towards Portugal for the last 3 weeks. We have been mainly using Campercontact and Park4night and have had no problems at all in an 8 metre van, apart from the weather being sh*te.
Most of the sites have been virtually empty, the roads are brilliant, the beer/wine is cheap and the people lovely.
PM me if you want for the places we have visited......but......
Just do it, Northern Spain is great.
The tolls are cheap as well so don't be scared to use the motorways.

Been doing it for last six years and taken a car on trailer the last four without any problems, never booked a site and always find a pitch somewhere.
The sites up around Benidorm and the Algarve May be busy if you like to be in lots of company.
We prefer the quieter sites.(y)(y)
