What you need is an old school spanner man that doesn’t need a computer to find a fault but to use his nous to work out what is wrong,
If it has a Peugeot/Fiat/Citroen engine then I’d suggest taking a look at the Talbot Owners Club and registering and ask the same question,
Extremely helpful and knowledgeable folks on there who could also point you to an engineer
