Sent logbook off early July for svtec chassis upgrade And it’s not come back yet.
Is this an abnormally long time to wait or is it just Covid backlog?
Thank you

Back log there getting better but still slow
Some logbook are coming back quick and some take 2 month or more

re-plating is a different process to other V5 changes, needing human interaction. The whole of DVLA seems to have gone onto furlough or working from home. There are months of backlog

I bought a new vehicle last Wednesday and had the new V5 this Monday. All processed online and computer generated. This week I took the V5 to the post office for a change of taxation class to disabled. The post office advised I should have the new V5 by christmas if I am lucky, if not they will chase it. They did the transfer on the computer at the till and printed a receipt good for 12 months tax though. The server at DVLA has been updated, now in a queue to get it rubber stamped when the workers return

It is going to be a madhouse at DVLA with such a backlog. Historically DVLA take on loads of temps to help with busy periods at registration change twice a year. Hopefully they will do the same with this huge log jam in their system

Still waiting for my V5, applied for two weeks ago. Our new van is sitting in the Dealers waiting for us to get Insurance and collect it.......no V5......no reg number. :(

I wouldn't wait to collect a vehicle for want of a set of 'Show Plates'
Get yourself online and get it bought.

Totally agree; there is no valid reason why DVLA should be even slower than usual, all their functions have been reduced and they still can't do it.

Sorry, am I missing something? The vehicle is unregistered with DVLA, I can’t pick it up.

28th July sent off V5 for change of ownership and down grade from 3650 to 3500, still waiting. Check the tax twice per day, it's still taxed so at least i am legal..................i think.

Sorry. I thought the Dealer was waiting for the physical V5, not that the vehicle was not Registered.

How does that sit with 'TheBig 1's comments above. ie "I bought a new vehicle last Wednesday and had the new V5 this Monday. All processed online and computer generated."

If his dealer has been able to Register his car, how come your Dealer doesn't have that facility.? Just sayin?

V5 sent off in March to correct mistake........ Still waiting.

Many car dealers can due to volume , & many MH dealers can't for the opposite reason.

No idea, sorry. All I know is the application was done two weeks ago yesterday. In fact, the dealer contacted yesterday asking if I’d received the V5 yet. I’m sure they want their money and get it out of their yard just as much as I want to pick it up.

When I’ve purchased new cars and motorcycles in the past, the dealers have had lists of reg numbers they can allocate, then the V5 has come a few days later.

I used to like the dealer allocated lists, got a few memorable numbers over the years, but now all changed

Our new ’home is registered from TODAY
Got the reg number 3 weeks ago to insure from today
Got the V5 LAST WEEK ( Aug 28th) with todays date of reg on it

Someone at dealers may be being economical with truth

You could be right, however, I’ve only been dealing with one person and he’s been pretty good throughout the process so far. The application was sent just over two weeks ago now, so fingers crossed for it to arrive soon (and there’s been a BH). (y)

Main car dealers have the facility to register online only a few of the bigger Motorhome dealers have the facility to do it.

Still waiting from 1st week of July.

Sent off V5 with updating docs back in March. I checked yesterday and found that the online record now shows the correct revenue weight, so some progress. However, no sign that the new V5 has been issued.

Still, at least the DVLA’s record now matches the uprated plate on the MH if I’m stopped.

New registration number came through today, exactly three weeks since application. (y)

It will be a mad house especially when they have announced that they are taking on 400 more staff, who is going to train them ?

The letter with my Reg Number states it will be up to 4 weeks before I receive the V5C.
