So I finally collected My first Motorhome yesterday, had a service pitch booked in a couple of weeks at a c&cc club site..... so lockdown incoming?

it is really frustrating I bought mine a year ago last August however did manage to get some great weekends and longer trips in.

She is now parked on the drive fully insured taxed and ready to go if we get the opportunity. (Not considering sorn)

:giggle:
Don't make plans just every chance you get use it, even if it is just for day trips. You still get to play with all the toys on board.

It makes each trip a little more precious.

That was the plan... but if we are locked down, Who knows? we have to use storage as no room to park where we live. luckily though it’s a couple of hundred yards from where my wife works (key worker) so at least I can get to it to start up etc..

Camp out on your drive. It is a good way to get to know your MH.
Take care and stay safe 👍
It’s at a storage facility! But I should be able to get to it without any issues...

I second that idea of testing/practicing using the MH overnight on the drive.
That’s what we did. Once without the cats & later with, for example.

Many closed and didn’t allow entry in the last lockdown.
C&MC Strathclyde following Scottish tier regime with no entry from Monday 06:00 to those residing outwith North Lanarkshire.

Our storage facility will close its gates again i am sure of that.So no access at all and perhaps dead batteries again .

I’m hoping that as the storage access is also access to Stables that they won’t be able to lock down, they are quite welcoming there. I will email them once Johnson has given us the news...

This is a bummer, not sure how I feel about it. Live in the South followed the rules studiously, we have relatively low cases. Feels like we are being punished for the rises elsewhere.
You are , the public GOT to realise everyone we all got to follow the restrictions !!! Why oh why can’t people understand this ! It is beyond me

So they should ITS NOT ESSENTIAL to go to your motorhome ????

Pretty obvious, bloody annoying from my point of view though. If only I had a driveway! I have followed the rules but still getting punished for it because it seems folks up north don’t follow the rules..

You have low cases now, just wait till it moves down South the way it moved North. The reason the North is bad now is that lockdown ended too early to stop it the way it did in the South where it started. In effect, the lockdown 1 was put on when cases in the North didn’t warrant one.

It is now endemic in the UK and Europe. I am afraid given the failure of test and trace and the encouragement to eat out to help out combined with the rush to get back to work pushed by the government, is the reason we are where we are.

Blaming regions or each other doesn’t help, it is those who direct policy who are to blame.

I wish everyone luck, please follow the guidance and stay safe.

Don't mind me ...just griping coz I cant use something I spent £28k on! Just hoping it doesn't continue like this into the new year.

Our storage yard has 2 electronic gates that we have the codes for. So if we want to take the van, illegal or otherwise we can.

I’m guessing you didn’t lose your job or a loved one to covid
Your absolutely wrong on that count, lost my father in law so don't assume you know what we have been through, my brother nearly lost his house..I have been lucky on the job front. I'm guessing you are feeling superior by being a self righteous prick and posting such a shit statement.. add to that 28k is basically a years wage for me so it is a big thing

Probably not at all appropriate, but had a feeling this was coming and been out tonight and had a meal ( yep notice posting time? ) now watching probably my all time favourite Rory Gallagher blast out at the IOW festival and also probably out of work Monday ( even at my age )
but getting extremely pissed off with all the negativity.

What? It started in the South, since when?. I live in Dorset I don’t remember it being the epicentre. It spread everywhere, we all came out of lockdown together. But for some reason, draw your own conclusions, the North has had an explosion of cases. Nothing to do with people not following the rules then.

I haven’t drawn my own conclusions, I have analysed detailed data and listened to people with far better understanding of the data than me.

So in short, no, it has nothing to do with people not following the rules in different areas as that has tended to be pretty consistent nationwide.

You can see this animation here, it spread North and never really went away. The case rate was still higher than the South of the country when lockdown ended hence why they are suffering now.

I think you're right the first lockdown ended when it was the right time for the southeast London especially , in the north it should have lasted longer. Of course all the local politicians would have said it was unfair like that prat in Leicester (thats not political I've met him he is a prat).

Trouble is London isn’t the South. Us lot in the Central South and South West have had low levels and despite the influx of tourists.

Yes, here in West Berks there's been a mostly good following of #10's Covid rules.
You can see people forgetting to socially distance but not in a deliberate way. Just thought less.
I've sat in on a picnic table near a takeaway café and observed that if the queue has formed with people stood 2m apart, new comers join at 2m.
If the queue has dispersed and reformed with those at the front not stood 2m apart - maybe because they came as a small group - then the new comers join too close.

tl;dr West Berks, in my experience is not a hot bed for rule breakers. A national lockdown is quite harsh for us. We've survived one lockdown, so our November Campsite visit is binned but maybe we can get away at Xmas 🤷‍♂️
