Just had a lithium upgrade with inverter at Vanbitz, absolutely fantastic service. We wouldn’t use anyone else as my husband is very choosy about who does work on our MH. Thanks Ash, Nick and Dave but my question is do we have to inform our insurance company?

Had the lithium upgrade but without inverter. Phoned my insurers, Safeguard, and was told it didn’t affect anything. Nothing in writing but I do have notes of the conversation and will include it at next insurance due date

We are having lithium & inverter fitted by Vanbitz end of April with additional solar panel. I never gave a thought to informing insurance. Maybe I’d better then just of have a record of it.

Always inform them. Even if they are not really bothered at least you and they will have notes to refer to in the event of any claim. and less chance of wriggling out of it.

Each year I ask about upgrades and I get the same answer, keep all receipts and value the MH appropriately to cover any replacement costs if a total loss.
It's important not to undervalue the insured amount.

I spoke to Caravan Guard about the same subject and the answer was doesn’t make any difference to the cover.
