Has anybody fitted one of these batteries and if so, did you do it yourself? Any complications with the wiring?

Yep, but I bought the cells and BMS separately, rather than an off the shelf "all in one" solution.
I went with 400Ah of Winston LiFePO4, 123SmartBMS and a Votronic VBCS 60/40/430 combined B2B/Solar/EHU charger. Thread here if interested:

Given Lithium batteries have to be E Marked for road use, did your insurers have any comments on your set up?

We have had a couple of issues with Insurance companies being difficult about lithium, mainly due to ignorance, but still potentially an issue.

Your set up does look impressive (y)

I fitted a Relion RB100 LiFePO4 myself, it is CE marked. I changed the mains charger and added battery to battery charger and solar mppt at the same time so that everything had appropriate charging profiles.

It's not come up (with insurance company) tbh Eddie. I highly doubt my cells are E marked, but I'd guess Mastervolt LiFePO4 batteries are? Same cells, so nothing I'll worry about unless I'm asked.

Tbh my insurance don't ask for that many details considering it's a self-build. Off the top of my head, they don't like woodburners etc and gas installation needs to be certified (which it is). Apart from that they are quite laid back :)

Glad you like the setup. Really pleased I went this route as it does all I hoped for :)

No you would think with the cost that MasterVolt lithium batteries would be but apparently they are not (According to our in house Lithium Guru)

I guess that like lots of things it only matters when push comes to shove.

How are you getting on with the rest of the conversion? I hope that your taking plenty of pictures?

I’ve just installed 2 x Victron Lithium’s with associated BMS which are linked to the Victron Multiplus Inverter/Charger which has its own BMS assistant which makes the whole setup fairly easy

I'm not really. Struggling a bit at the moment with life in general, but hopefully back on track soon. Then pictures :)

Our Relion 100 lithium batteries require no extra components as the battery management system is built in, which makes installation much cheaper, quicker and easier
