Hi all
Can anyone point me in the right direction as to the actual step by step process for driving licence renewal at 70 and keeping part C1. I occasionally browsed the forum while on holiday, but payed more attention to how full my wine glass was than what you do and when, I'm now armed with snippets of information ( D2 and or D4 forms, D4drivers being great, cheaper and better option than doctors, get recorded delivery when sending applications to DVLA etc, etc, but a bit confused as to what order and/or where you obtain forms etc.

I'm 70 next week, I've just had an eye test and received new specs in the last week, class myself as reasonable fit and on no medication, so I'm really just after guidance on the step by step application process and what forms, from where, thankyou.

Forms from DVLA website. Get your medical, then submit forms by post.

I think the recommendation was to not use recorded delivery as it all is redirected to the same office where it festers for weeks.

I did recorded delivery as I knew it would take a while and wanted to be able to prove applications sent so as to drive under Section 88. May not be worth it if straightforward application

Have you not had the DVLA renewal reminder with the application form? You should have had it two or three months ago and all you need to know is there.
