Hello all

I am currently researching levellers to carry in my camper and am drawn towards the Thule ones. I am confused though. One seller states they have a solid base ( so unlikely to sink in mud) while in a reviews on another site someone complained it took him 15 minutes to get all the stones out of the perforated base.

Only one can be right surely.

Anyone able to recommend a set that is not too big to store, dont split or crack, won't sink in mud and give about 4inches lift.

Not asking you much am i

Had the fiamma ones to start with, they do not have a solid base but nice and compact worked a treat on my pvc. We upgraded to a bigger coach-built and they were too small and broke under the weight. So worth checking your weight. We now use millenco quad which are really good and would not use anything else. They do have a solid base but are very chunky and take a lot of room.

Thanks for that. Our weight is s maximum 3500kg but storage is our issue. Being a campervan this us quite limited, but we knew it would be. Our last van was a coach built with a garage so storage wasn't an issue. We too used Milenco but the triple height ones, well pleased but too large for our new van.

As I've posted many times before - no levellers required, just buy bigger glasses and don't fill them up so much

Or drink out of the bottle ?

I use these 'levelling ramp plates' on the matching ramps, which are strong grey plastic. The ramp fits in indentations, so it doesn't slip. The extra bit at the start stops the ramp from slipping on smooth surfaces. Gives the ramp a solid base so it doesn't sink in sand, mud etc.

The ad says can be screwed to the ramp, but I find it works fine without the screws.

We have the same Milenco triple height levelers, which we fit in the van OK (a pvc). We've had them over a decade now without any issues.

I also bought a set of Milenco minis, which we carry in addition to the triples. Unfortunately, the minis are not as robust and have buckled under the weight of the van - I keep meaning to take it up with Milenco. A shame, because they're really compact and very handy.

Pics show a collapsed level and a normal one. Our van is plated at 3,500kg, which is well within the stated capacity. Since taking the pics, the other one has collapsed too... :(

Thanks for the replies. I quite like ghe idea ov the Fiamma level plate. Stops sinking but can be stored separately within the camper.

I’ve got the Thule levellers.

No problems, and would recommend them to others. Not really had a problem with grott sticking to them. If it does, just chuck in the carrying bag supplied and sort out when home or next needed.

We’re 3850kg.
