I'm looking for a cheap but effective way of levelling the MH. Appreciate they have only limited capability and the proper solution would be an air system. These air systems cost loads of dosh, don't have loads of dosh, so looking for a much cheaper solution.
Any advise on what levellers are good and what to avoid would be greatly appreciated.

Are you talking about "leveling " on site or ride height adjustment ,
as air systems are for when traveling site level is hydraulic ?

Hi Tony52

The loads of dosh dedicated levellers are hydraulic not air, yes air as in air suspension can do limited levelling but won't add stability as well unless you add active dampers that can lock out (even more money), anyway we digress your question was cheap levellers, you could make yourself something out of planks of wood or you could go for the plastic jobbies, sure you will get some replies as to which are the best, has your van just got 4 wheels and the weight might come into the equation.

Milenco Quattros, used them for years and they haven't broken yet.

I do carry a set but seldom use them as I avoid uneven spots and as far as possible. I don't feel the need to be absolutely level my attitude might be different if being level affected my fridge working which on some motorhomes can be critical.

I have two types... the big Quattro’s for a high lift.... and these... which are shot!... the thin ends are broken and they’ve split... but still work ... Almost three yrs of constant f/t use...

We previously had the yellow Milenco levellers, they broke. Used the Quattros on everything from sand to concrete, never split yet and ours is a 3.5 tonne van.

Milenko Quattro are excellent but big and heavy ..

but we've found most sites and aires are level enough without using them, to be honest, in three years I've only used them a handful of times..

the only critical think is to make sure the fridge is reasonably level.. no more than 6deg off level fore and aft

if more than that it can irreparable damage the condenser and shorten it's life ..

6 degrees off would have your booze off the table :).

Milenco triple level work for us. Not quite as much lift as quatros, but lot more compact to store, lighter weight but still robust and do a good job.

Have had the same set for over 8 years and used on all sorts of surfaces - no damage whatsoever.
