- enough to know i shouldnt touch things i know nothing about ....
There are a couple of Aires in Les Sables and we spent the night on the one in the centre, it is signposted La Plage Aire.
It was free out of season but I think around €15 per night in season, though those costs varied depending on dates.
The Aire itself was nothing special, a large flat gravel parking area with space for over 50 motorhomes of virtually any length or height. Where the Aire did score well was that it was a short walk to the beach, with fantastic golden sands and lots of seafront cafes. If you're looking to spend the day at the beach then the close proximity really works. The sea front reminds me of Llandudno, lots of older elegant buildings overlooking the sea (but also has lots of infill out of character apartment blocks aswell)
Waste facilities weren't particularly good and no water this time of year (late March). There is a large boules area behind the Aire (last photo)
If you're in a PCV or small camper you could be cheeky and park directly behind the Gendarmarie. There were no signs banning it or any services, but it's a 30 second walk to the main Aire, no fences etc, so you could easily use the waste facility. There was one large Motorhome parked there overnight and still there when we left mid morning. It's advertised on P4N - just drive into it as though your driving into the police station car park across the hatched markings on the road outside the police station and drive around the back !
