Lens collar........

......... To fit on my tamron 300mm lens. I am finding that the lens is too heavy when my 450d canon is on my tripod. Do I just measure around the lens barrel to get the size and where the heck does it fit on the lens without it fouling the focus ring and zoom.

Here is an option made by a reputable brand. Seems to be adjustable to fit the diameter of the lens.
