Lenny's heading for France & beyond

Interesting water wheel, water is collected in the terricoter jugs on the paddles and discharged into a chute that takes the water off for crop irrigation.

The photos you’ve been posting on this trip have really opened my eyes to Portugal. We hope to spend three months in Europe from next March and I can see us trying to follow your current route through the country. Thanks. Except for the M541 😉

yep totally agree with this. Some fantastic photo's Lenny. :giggle::giggle:

Lenny i would love you to try and follow me on our Aussy trip soon.
It's a case of not a lot to see but so much to see.
Sat Nav gives instructions like 100 yards turn left and go straight for 745 Ks.
It's different.
I know what you mean, when staying in Perth, I decided to take a short day trip to Wave Rock, big mistake, arrived 5 hours later, spent 30 minutes looking around, then a long drive back, to top it all my uncle it turned out needed his insulin (now he tells me:oops:), Dash to get back, it was the longest drive of my life, had the missus looking on the mobile for nearest hospital, nearest one 300Km, was totally exhausted by the time we got back.

Wave Rock and Hippo Rock are at Hayden. Yes a good drive from Perth, specially in a day.

Sorry Lenny. Won't do it again

Starting to make our way back now.
We were going to stop the night in Sabugal and visit the csstle, the camper stop was uninviting so we are 9km down the road by the reservoir, very pleasant.

I wonder if that feeling of starting to head back colours the experience? We’ve struggled last couple of days … didn’t ’feel’ Spain at all so back in Portugal …

when is your return crossing?

Don't think so the photos make the town & the gardens look far better that they are.

Ferry from Dieppe week Friday 31st.
