Hi everyone, hope someone can help?

We have 2 x 100amp leisure batteries which seem to be discharging down to 10.1amps but even when on charge at home they do not seem to improve although they both have a green light on them indicating that they are good.

Didn't you ask this question yesterday?

Is your charger working/switched on?

Have you used a multimeter to test the voltage coming out of your charger?

Do you mean 10.1 volt not amp?

10.1 volt would be totally flat. You might get away with totally flat once. But batteries aren’t capable of being completely flattened especially lead acidwhich normally should only be to 50% of full capacity, generally 12v. Gel types can go to around 20% capacity.

chances are your batteries are damaged and will now not take a proper charge and can only be replaced

Could be that one of the batteries has failed or nearly failed, that will drag them both down

disconnect from each other and the charger inc solar if you have it, measure both voltages

It has happened to us twice now, where disconnecting the baddun saved the day 👍

As DavidG58 said, maybe only one of the batteries has failed. Try charging each of them separately by disconnecting the other one.

A battery contains 6 cells and is normally around 12.6 Volts. If one of the six cells fails, the voltage will reduce to 5/6 of that, which is about 10.5 Volts. It's a common failure mode.

I'm not sure what you mean by the 'green light', is that a small window in the top of the battery, or a light on a display panel?

Looks like a duplicate thread, and maybe the OP is not seeing the replies. Perhaps Jim can look into it.
