On the newer (say 2011) B class Hymers if I was to buy a left hand drive, what can be done with the lights when driving in this country ? do I have to buy new lights ?

No, you can adjust them by a lever on the back of the light. Post again when you have the van and I can tell you how to do it.(y)

We have a 2008 Hymer our garage told us the lights are flat so don't need adjusting.

Hi Xabia, is that a B544 you have ? that's the van we're after, only seen one so far a pretty poor example in Livingstone. When we get sorted with our current van we'll be off to see one at Bundesvan. Is there anything particular that we need to check on them ?

If you plan to register the van in the UK then the lights will need to be adjusted to a flat setting or replaced for right hand drive ones

Hymer headlamps are adjustable for RH or LH, no need for new lights. We change ours over every time & it's works fine.

Hi Busybuilder,

Yes, it's a B544SL, I went for that version because of the underfloor storage which is very useful. Never experienced any problems with it in the 10 years since I bought it new in Germany. Just had the drop down bed hydraulic rams replaced as it was getting a little more difficult to raise it but I don't think that is unusual bearing in mind the age of them.
One thing to bear in mind if you get a 3 litre version, they tend to suffer from drooping front suspension after a while, I cured it with the installation of Goldschmitt springs (I have mine for sale now as I recently had full air suspension fitted).

It's my second Hymer and have been very happy with both of them.

That explains the 544 at Bundesvan having Goldschmidt suspension.
A 2011 van will probably have them as standard well not quite they come in the Komfortpack which includes a drivers door, air con, electric mirrors, cruise control etc. Don't think they will sell you a van without the Komfort pack.

Not quite true, if they are LHD they are adjustable between LHD & flat dipping or if they are RHD they are adjustable between RHD & flat dipping.
