Hi, I've just took delivery of a thermal screen cover today, question is ... would it be ok to leave it on the MH while its parked up outside over the winter in the wind & rain & snow?
I know this is what they're designed for,but will the material cope with this exposure for weeks on end?
what do other funsters do,put the cover on or leave it off ?
thanks
Kev

Leave ours on for around 6 months while in Spain so don’t see why not.

I'm not sure why you'd want to leave it on when you're not using the van?

Unless you've got an oil rad on and are trying to trap some heat in maybe? ?

I'll have an oil filled rad on when it gets cold, but mainly to keep the rain from running down & dripping onto the engine.

Use my Silverscreen all the time when it's parked up, summer and winter. It protects the cab area from the sun-bleaching and heat here in SW France - sunny even in winter - and although the screen was second-hand when I bought it, it shows no signs of deterioration.

Ah right, that's causing you problems then? Covering it makes sense (y)

I picked up a set of silverscreens for nearly nothing that had been left on a van in storage under a tree for 2 winters. they were absolutely filthy dirty with black and green patches all over

i laid them out on the drive and pressure washed them and they looked new again. used them for 18 months before passing them on with a motorhome i was selling

We have left our silver screens on all year since around 2012 and they still look good as new.

They are either baking in the sun for six months in Spain or being drenched in the UK.

But bought a second set this year just in case they do fail at some time.

Used to leave them on, on my 1st van after about 3 years they deteriorated and were absorbing water.
