Just thought I would check the van over (2016 Benimar 294 ) . I filled the water tank and primed the system but when I switched the kitchen sink tap on it started leaking from the body of the tap. Could any one tell me if the tap is repairable I guess the seal has dried out with not being used and how to repair it or if it’s not repairable what make and type is is it so I an replace it .
Many thanks . H

My tap started leaking from around the swivel part with the spout attached, I stripped it down and cleaned the scale off and applied silicone to seals and all good with no leaks now.

Might just try that with the old one and keep as a spare ,thanks Manic 👍

On mine I removed the tap top and then remove the cartridge and the part the cartridge fits in unscrewed.

I am at that stage but can’t unscrew that section it tight , so I will take it to a mate next week he has a vice so hopefully it will come undone . 👍

Mine was very tight, I had the pipes in a vice and the cartridge tube had some recessed inside that my mole grips fitted inside and then had an adjustable spanner to turn the mole grips.
I think some of these taps do have a dowel pin inside which you would have to remove but mine didn’t.

when a little bit of water freezes in the tap it displaces the 'o' rings. take them out, apply some lubricant and refit. it usually clears the problem

Thanks MisterB, I will have a play with the old one this week . I ordered a new one off eBay they are only £29 . But will try and repair old one for a spare .👍

I've just encountered the exact same problem. Taking the tap off requires taking the fridge out by the looks of things. It doesn't leak when it's turned off. I'm hoping that running some hot water through it might help. Due at a campsite in less than 2 hours...

Not sure just went on eBay and put motorhome taps in then just choose one that looked right. It was a simple job to replace on mine . Good luck 👍
