Lots but slow learner.
Years ago in a rental MH my brother and i in convoy were deffo in France in the peak of the Lavender season.
For the life of me i cannot remember where or when this may have been, but do remember it was spectacular (ish).
Anyone advise when and where the best time to go to fully appreciate the Lavender fields
Ta

Some years ago we visited the town of Gap which is famous for lavender fragrance production. Your missus will give the credit card a bashing if you go there. We saw plenty of lavender fields in the area.

I mooched round this as part of my plans last year

We have often gone to Fraganard in Grasse as Mrs Bob loves the stuff. And yes the CC gets well used.

have you been to this one bobnick , probably 45 to an hour from you. On the Rainford bypass road to southport, at Rainford outside st helens.
Ive been a couple of times....nothing on that scale of course , but on a nice day its worth a brew and a lavander scone, then empty your wallet in the overpriced tat shops :)

We would recommend The Luberon and Plateau de Valensole.

Harvesting has changed a bit since we last went!

No not been to that one. Thanks for the heads up.
I am always looking for Tea Houses places to visit say within a 2 hour mostly bike rides. If it's worth taking madam we then go in the car.
Noted this and will be there next time the sun shines.

That was the difference between lavander ( in Provence) and lavandine ( which is what's grown in the UK. Supposedly our stuff is a bit coarser in scent and the lavander more highly valued.

We stayed in a tiny cottage a couple of times, outside the village of Saignon, near Apt, in the Luberon part of Provence. This was late june both times and the area was beautifully Purple everywhere. Its a gorgeous area, and has the added scenic pleasure of Mont Ventoux brooding in the background. Took us a day or two to realise that the low, almost imperceptable hum that we heard in the mornings was in fact millions of bees on the Lavender before it got too hot. A stunning area and one we hope to revisit with the MH. Apparently, the Cherries from Apt are reckoned to be the best in france as well

Domaine des Lauribert near Visan have a great free aire although you will end up buying some of their great wine after a degustation.

If you ever venture down Somerset way there’s Somerset Lavender in the village of Faulkland outside Frome.

And if looking for a pub based campsite nearby then Tuckers Grave Inn just down the road will fit the bill. They have a constantly evolving programme of events and live bands to boot. (Details on the website).
