We are booked on the Ferry to Zadar Croatia. It arrives at 11pm. The woman who sold us the ticket said there was somewhere just outside the port to park for the night as it is too late to go a campsite.
Has anyone done this?

Plenty of p4n spots around the port. You may be able to park in the Falkensteiner site parking if you intend to stay there, if there are spaces.

There's a big car park in front of the main Zadar police station, we parked there for a couple of nights, along with other Moho's, 2 years ago.

We were there a few weeks ago.
We stayed on the edge of town at
Fabulous campsite with all the facilities.
They seemed to have a stellplatz behind the reception for the single nighters.

There was also parking for motorhomes up near the domed stadium, certainly OK during the day, probably OK overnight if you were a late arrival and discreet.

Thanks everyone. That gives us some places to aim for. Always slightly daunting to arrive somewhere new when it’s late and dark.

Update.
We tried a couple of car parks but got shouted at! We drove to Falkensteiner as suggested above and found the reception open and not at all bothered by us checking in at 11pm. We stayed in the stellaplatz behind reception which has all facilities and all the facilities of the campsite were available to us next morning.
Some campers checked in later than us.
So thanks to those who suggested it.
