This may sound a silly question but I need a bit of advice. I have a 12v push button intermittent switch, ie. only sends current when held in.
I want to use this to turn on & off a small LED light, can I do this using a relay & if so what do I need? I can provide a permanent fused 12v feed to the relay. Changing the switch is not an option as it matches everything else on a panel

Yes you can use a latching relay but you have to be able to remove the 12v supply for it to switch off which may mean having a separate off button.

Easy....

Switch needs disconnecting fully and one side sent to earth...other side to relay as shown..
that will be an earth trigger switch as shown.
red to 12v supply
purple to 12v accessory.

It might be worth considering changing the switch to a latching switch as oppose to a momentary switch, which is what you have now

I'd love to be let off duties by claiming that I have to keep my finger on the button. Is that not an option?

I never new they existed but I had to look for a better deal (y) £21.50 delivered rather than nearly £30

Even better. I didn't do any searching - just went to where I'd noticed one in the past.
