Last Tango in Halifax

I agree. Unfortunately I didn't see the prev series but am firmly hooked on it having watched last weeks episode.

The first two seris were great, but its probibly going on too far now, no family is that disfunctional is it?

they should have quit on a high

Oh I don't know about dysfunctional, have just been to a family funeral and believe me, I think my extended family can give them a run for their money!!!

It would probably make sense for this season to be the final one while it's still good.

I thought Nicola Taylor was robbed at last year's BAFTAs - hopefully justice will be done this year. Sarah Lancashire is just cruising in 'Last Tango' - she's far better in 'Happy Valley'.

Agree Happy Valley showed what a good actress she is, one of the best around.

I had to look it up on Wikipedia but the house where the rich son lives who owns Huddersfield Town football club is at Turton Tower which is just under half a mile away. Don't often get a chance to swank. I had a cup of ovaltine in the little cafe at the back on New Years Day. Hope I don't spoil your day by forcing you to sing "we are the Oval...." all bloody day and all bloody night like I did.

I enjoy this one too. But then I love the actors in whatever they are in... the good old stock if you know what I mean. :)

a great series with an excellent cast and the right amount of humour

Very good story with excellent acting. Celia is managing to infuriate me with her reaction to Alan's infidelity from a previous marriage. She plays a brilliant portrayal of what I guess would be a fairly common female reaction to the revelations.

She's my mother reincarnated!
Brilliantly written, superb acting, great directing---gets better with each episode.

Terrific script, cast, directing, acting etc.etc. It’s wonderful stuff.

I've come to this series late - caught last weeks episode, first one I'd ever seen and really enjoyed it - was busy last night and forgot to record it so will have to catch up via i-player.

Hmm, my family is a bit dysfunctional - wonder if that's why it appeals:D

Was worried that the writers couldn't keep up such a good storyline, but so far so good.

Paula, our Spanish neighbour, has been been watching it (with English subtitles) to improve her English and she thinks it is wonderful. We are recording this last series for her.

Never seen it, sounds a bit too 'Northern' for me. Is it all whippets, pigeons, cat flaps, flat caps and flat beer?

What's wrong with whippets , pigeons very nice in the BBQ

You only get flat beer daan saaf don't you?
Cheers, Dave (y)

How many bad desicions can any family make? Like any soap. Mind you, it is s-o-o-o well acted. And you really feel for the characters.... Except for the awful John, which of course is what you're meant to think. Can't think of any reason he's still in it, except to spin surprise at the end.

Only started watching it this series - enjoying the twisting storylines as hate being able to guess what comes next plus some great acting. However what were they thinking in the last episode?! The obvious fake stiff baby doll that Sarah Lancashire was holding for so long in so many shots was a real faux pas :(

Similarly I have only started watching from this series and I wish now I had seen it from the very beginning. Sarah Lancashire is one if our best actresses and I love the plots.

Not biting! Too busy packing van for Spain. Pigeons-check, Whippets-check, flat cap-check, string vest-check, knotted hankie--check,white socks and sandals-check,pork pies-check, flat beer---- having a laugh!

Great entertainment for a Sunday night,(y)

Maybe it's me, but I couldn't hear some of Sarah's lines - she mumbled quite a few of them and hardly opened her mouth when she spoke. The other characters in the scene were quite audible. Still, a great production, well worth watching.

I particularly liked the bit where Celia caught Alan smoking and then said what other secrets do you have? You could be a Russian spy...which I believe David Jacobi was in an old tv series. Brilliant writing and a great programme. Love it.
