The La Fleche aire on the north side of the river has closed.

The grey water dump, chemical toilet disposal and water tap have all been removed. A notice next to where the facilities were provided, indicates the closure of the aire and redirects users to the municipal campsite to the south of the river.

Update. Spoke to a fellow camper this morning re the closure.

Apparently, there have been altercations between the Wednesday market traders and those using the aire. The market traders can't set up their stalls in the early morning (Wednesday) until the campers have left.

Last evening (Monday @ 7pm) there were no MH's parked at the aire....as viewed from the campsite south of the river. It would appear there is a total ban on overnight parking throughout the week....possibly enforced by the police every evening.

When we stayed there a couple of years ago the signage was wrong. I think it said market day was Thursday, no overnighting on Wednesday. We arrived Tuesday lunchtime and were joined by half a dozen French vans. Got woken up about 06.30 by a Gendarme. He was quite pleasant and insisted that we moved. No problem, we were not going to argue, we moved off then walked back to wander the market. The French vans were still there, loud voices and lots of hand gesticulating with quite a few Gendarmes.

@Wagoneer , we were on la Fleche campsite last night. First time we'd been and we liked it. We wondered where the aire was. Our pitch was on grass by the river, overlooking the weir.
However, got fleeced by the la Fleche vet this morning - 50 Euros for the pet passport . We usually use le Mailleraye, but the timescale wasn't right for us, this time. You live and learn :(.

Yes agree, we stayed at the ACSI site immediately south of the river after finding the aire was closed. Not quite as convenient for bread shop or general shopping though !!!
