Just a tad..
Yep have two of the 200A KS packs, so 408A total as they are actually 204A each.

So far so good! Had them in since June and took them at the word of the marketing hype and fitted them and forgot! 😜

Do you need a B2B charger for them or can you just plug and play them with my current fit.

Standard engine to battery management as per autotrail and a aftermarket 120w solor panel through a victron mppt 120/40

I have just bought and installed a 155Ah KS Energy lithium in my Dreamer D55, replacing the knackered 100Ah Banner lead acid. I installed a DC-DC charger at the same time to ensure that the battery was given the correct charging profile - I watched the YouTube video where they do a straight swap on a Swift and rely on the drop in the cables to get the voltage roughly right at the battery.

PS I had a discount code to get some money off, but it would be great to have a Funster specific code.

20 years tugging .5 years MOH.
Got two KS. 100 ah. Plus victron 12/12/30A B to B. You won’t regret purchasing them, they don’t half pack a punch all the way.
The director of kS. Neal Morris is very helpful if you have any questions or concerns.

Jim did reply very recently (within last 2 weeks) to one of my posts that KS Energy had been in touch with him with the view of possibly offering a Fun Discount on their batteries.

I've just been told by KS Energy that they can install a LiFePO4 battery for me. But they can't install the B2B or mains charger at this time. But:

Your EBL will charging this perfectly well on its standard lead/gel setting and via the split charge system.

Apart from the charging being slow... is that safe and good for the battery???

I believe it will do no harm.... indeed exact situation you have if you have a solar panel... cloudy day... maybe 1amp charge rate.!!

My solar does have a lithium setting, so that should be OK.

I was more worried about the mains and alternator charging from the EBL. I thought that a lead/gel setting would attempt to float charge a battery, which is bad for lithium?

Ah sorry misunderstood you.
Yea float charge bad for lithium which is why I use a stand alone lithium charger in van when required which is really only to fully charge battery before leaving home..I never use van charger.

So I could pull the fuse on the mains charger to prevent that from float charging the battery.

What about the B2B/DC-DC charger that runs of the alternator? Is that relatively safe provided I don't drive for multiple hours on a full battery?

Again I have an isolation switch from b2b (lithium setting) to battery which I turn off when not required... especially useful when using van in winter ( as everyday transport and not as camper) when battery is very cold.
People will tell you no need as lithium setting and battery bms will do that for you but I am old school and prefer to have added protection of manual isolation and then I know 100% it will be safe.
Edit in answer to first question depends on charger but on mine I just leave charger turned of.

I have my 200Ah KS Energy lithium connected to my Victron 75/15 MPPT solar controller that has a lithium profile and a SmartBatterySense set to prevent solar charging below 5C
It is charged via the alternator through a Votronic 1212-50 B2B, that has a lithium setting and has a temp sensor connected to -ive battery terminal that will prevent the B2B from charging below 0C and via EHU, through the Schaudt EBL119 Relying on the battery BMS to prevent charging below 0C.

now the EBL 119 only has a GEL or AGM setting, so i contacted Udo Lang at Schaudt re EBL119 and Lithium, and this is his reply
”The EBL with the IUoU charging line in Gel mode is possible to charge in a good way Lithium battery types with a battery management system on it.
So the best is to ask at the battery producer´s help desk for the ok to charger with the EBL with 14,3V and 18A output the Lithium battery.”

I understand the charge on the EBL119 GEL setting is 14.4V at 18A for up to 16h which is fine for the Lithium, and the float voltage is 13.7v, which is not harmful for the lithium

I never use van charger.
same here, I discn this and use the victron charger
Same iwth my b2b, I bought a victron Isolated orion and installed a simple switch I can reach when driving. though I do believe it drops itself when needed, I just switch off though.
the same with my solar, fitted a switch which is also handy when working on it

Few years now
I'm glad you've said that....They have just enquired about advertising here and offering a 5% Funster discount.
Any update on this ? I have money burning a hole in my pocket. but if I can save a bit on the cost may be able to go up a size.
