I’m a newbie
Hi have a new Motorhome Chausson 758 and the kitchen sink takes ages to empty is this normal?

thanks

Ours takes quite a while. When I looked at the pipework there are sections where there is little, if any, drop so it cannot gather much speed. Also it can be a problem that when the manufacturer drilled the necessary holes in the waste tank, they omitted to remove the swarf which can also slow the flow.

Think I will try and get it looked at under warranty however I find that nobody wants to sort problems out or warranty unless you brought the vehicle from the dealer themselves

First thing to try might be a good old fashioned plunger! With hot soapy water.

daft but when mine runs slow i stir the water and that seems to work (I am very good at stirring I have been told)

If it's new, it could be debris from the build process.
If you feel like tackling it yourself, a go with a plunger might do the trick (or make it worse).
The pipes are often corrugated, so pick-up food debris with time but that is probably not the case here.
If you can track the pipework, I'd check its route looking for savage bends, pinches or unnecessary sags.

Try pouring a couple of bottles of cheap coca cola down the plug hole.

If that doesn’t work there are some good products you can buy at your local caravan/moho shop.

Oh,and is the van level?? Sometimes that can affect drain rates.
