Found a few recipes on the internet but looking for advice to get the best out of them from anyone that has personally cooked with them?

Got some of those growing in my garden ooer, thought they were poisonous.
The ones in your garden in Cheshire may well be poisonous. I don’t think King Oysters grow in the UK. Be careful!

Tried some the other day - dont know if we got the best way, but they were good. Similar texture to fresh ceps, but not the distinctive taste. We just sliced them downwards, and fried with olive oil and butter, finished with parsley. I’d get them again. The ones we had were grown in Korea!

A Chinese/Korean favourite apparently. Fried or roasted seem the popular way but I guess you could just chop them up and chuck in a stew or chicken casserole. :)

Thanks for your replies..
Had the mushrooms for lunch today.
Sliced in half vertically and put in a pan with finely chopped garlic,
butter and flavoured olive oil (see https://www.motorhomefun.co.uk/forum/threads/pizza-a-la-remoska-flavoured-olives.164785/)

Fried slowly until they were coloured both sides then added some white wine and put on a close fitting lid to let them braise/steam slowly.

Served them with a salad, together with a hard boiled egg and leftover Pasta Carbonara from last night with an avocado made into guacamole.

Would we have them again? Yes but sliced thinner and cooked faster. A bit like scallops in texture and not as tasty as Seps.
About twice the price of Seps at €16 per kilo ( we paid €3 for the two)

Well that`s our 13th year & still loving it.
They are actually Korean Oyster Mushrooms, you over cooked them a tad looking at the colour but ingredients were perfect.
They also work well just sauteed in butter and garlic, sliced about 5mm.
