Kindle 3G

    I keep reading that the Kindle 3G can be used to pick up email and browse the web for free within Europe. Is that correct - does anyone use this service

    Yes, & it works, but is slow to use with no mousepad. Worked with Edge when no 3G signal.
    The new touchscreen may be better though.

    I am not 100% certain but remembered reading in kindle related forum that the latest touch 3G kindle the web browsing in Europe has been disabled Do check it out before purchase if this is one of the useage you after

    Just do a search on Kindle, it's all in here. The last Big Debate was about a month ago.

    I found that it wouldn't open e-mail that requires multiple windows ie.AOL
    Otherwise it is usable to surf etc-albeit a tads slow and clunky.
