Keeping Your Beer Cold

we have a portable freezer that we always take away and it's stored in the garage, on the way out and whilst away, the temp is set at 4deg, therefore keeping beer nice and cold, once we set off for home...... the temp is set at -18 ( lowest setting) and is then filled with, normally fish and langoustines for when we get back

I am absolutely delighted with our VEVOR 20L portable fridge freezer. It's been sitting there for two months keeping drinks at 5C whatever the weather - 95C yesterday!
£135 well spent.😍

Paradoxically, the 15 years old Dometic PowerFridge is still making ice...🥶

A cold beer tastes nicer in a glass straight from the freezer
You must be a larger lout
Beer should be served at 10°c.

Agree. The Arrival Beer is a ritual. Our choice is usually Moretti, but I wish they came in a proper sized tin. 330ml? Barely a sip.

Our fridge is inconveniently always full of food, so we got one of these:

For the garage, but looking at getting a 12v socket wired up to our 500kg trailer so it can live in there.

Didn't pay that price either!

In my camper I have a 12v cool box on a slide out mechanism, which is on 24/7 it uses so little power.

It will take exactly 2 X 18 slabs of Stella Artois, keeping them as cold as I like, as it is compressor run so will go down to -22* in any ambient temperature. 😎

Portable freezer boxes are great. Mine is a Dometic and a bit overpriced, however works great. Currently at home for overflow ice cream, but normally in the motorhome garage where I have fitted a double 12v socket for it.

For us. Fridge in van full of food. Freezer box plugged in garage for beers and cider and glasses in freezer too, after a 10 mile hike I love a cider :giggle:(y)

Our current setup isn't great, but the Vario will be better.

That will have a larger fridge freezer inside and a portable fridge freezer in the boot for when needed.
So looking forward to having a bit more space for these things (y)

John Barrett - If you were buying again, would you still go with the Vevor? (not ordered one yet so looking for recommendations)

Well, I did say that I was delighted with it. Will that do?🤩

I have to say Jim - that tin of Stella you so generously donated to me during the half time break in our gig at Newark was freezing cold! Just what I needed at the time to cool down. Whatever you use to chill your beers works spectacularly well. 👍

We have been using a outwell 35 litre cool box which. works quite well but I’ve bought today an Alpicool TWW35 fridge freezer and 2 100watt folding solar panels.
The Alpicool runs off mains, 12volt , solar and also has an inbuilt lithium batter pack which can run the fridge up to 10 hours.

Does yours work the compressor on 12V?

I have the Mobicool MCF40 but the compressor only works on mains, on 12v its the Peltier cooling which is gash when the weather is warm.

https://www.mobicool.com/en-de/de/products/cool-boxes/electric-cool-boxes/mobicool-mcf40-_-222667

Edit: Just re-read the instructions for the Coolbox and there is not mention of different cooling between 12v and 240v so maybe I'm being stupid and just assuming something......
