Pilote Galaxy 270
Hi there.
I‘m gradually working my way through my 2000 Pilote Galaxy 270 and would like to know what and how the Kalori heater/ cooler/ no idea thing works please.
it’s situated behind rue drivers seat and has a twist knob and an up and down fan/ heat controller. Any help greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Steve

It is probably a heater that uses the engine hot water when the engine is running. The up down lever controls the water flow and so the heat. The knob controls the built in fan. It is fitted to warm the habitation area when you are carrying passengers. Do not use the fan unless the engine is running or you will flatten the engine battery. The fan should only run when the ignition is on.

Morning!

I tried that yesterday when the van was running but didn't get any response or noises from the unit. Any idea which fuse or electrical circuit it might be on?
I've virtually got the inside of this van in bits now, I need to get it all back together for July 17th, so I will post some photos on here soon for you to have a look at.
It isn't anywhere near as daunting as first imagined to be fair, so I should be okay.

The supply appears to come from the fuse box inside the little locker alongside the passenger seat (UK). Surprised to see it is not controlled by the switches on the main control panel.

Now I should state I have modified my hab heater layout. Mine was on the RH wall forward of the RH rear passenger seat. I did not like the restriction to leg room and difficulty of access to the controls so moved it across to the LH side, mounted into the under setee locker aft of the forward passenger seat, we found that locker area was never used as entailed removing all the cushions and lifting the setee base. I also remote mounted the control knob to the dashboard in the unused switch location to the left of the hazard lights switch. Running from an ignition switched supply. I then rerouted the rubber water hoses up through the LH floor. I made a small triangular box in the corner for the Truma blown air outlet. Having revisited this work I may add a circuit breaker to the supply using the redundant control knob hole on the heater.

That mess of wires around the heater is a result if me running most of the wiring to the Schaudt power supply and control panel inside rather than underfloor. They must use the same harness for many models, I found about five feet of harness coiled up under the step, not good when we are always being told to keep runs short to avoid voltage drop!

After all that work in truth we hardly ever use the heater but do like the increased space under the table.
