Does anyone have a window vac, are they worth having for use in the MH or in the house ?

I was thinking it could be useful on mirrors and the shower in the MH.

We have one. Great bit of kit. I have bought a small blade for it as this is great for the windscreen and any smaller windows at home. I wasn’t convinced about it at first but it is far more use than I imagined.

Yes they are really good?

Do you use the cleaning fluid that Karcher provide when cleaning the MH ?

I've only been using MH friendly products for cleaning the shower up until now.

I've heard it's useful for that winter morning condensation on the windscreen

Used to be good for condensation until we started using screens on the front but wouldn't be without it for all sorts of jobs around the house.

OK yes, not to be used with the plastic windows, what about the shower and the concentrated cleaning detergent they provide ?

Got a Karcher at home and a Lidl \ Aldi copy in the motorhome. Only use it in the motorhome as a "vacuum" on the hab windows as we've got screen covers on the front. Good bit of kit (both).

One of our best buy gadgets for the van!

We don't use any cleaning fluids with it, just use it to suck up the water. Great for condensation, and pretty useful when cleaning the windows at home too!

Yes had ours nearly 5 years and just use it for the cab windows, quick and easy.

Cab windows and shower, great bit of kit. Less hassle than silver screens and I get to look out in the morning. I like having a nice big panoramic A class screen and don’t like restricting it.

Make sure you get the later one as ours spays water out of the motor when used on its side, I think some of the copy ones addressed this.
Maybe some on here could advise.

We've tried other makes but nothing comes close to a Karcher. We have one for the MH and another for home - you don't need to worry about washing plastic windows as, by default, you should already have cleaned them to get any muck off anyway before you use the vac.

We've used one for a few years now and it is a vital piece of kit in a MH especially if you don't use external screens as it is a doddle to get rid of the condensation with it - watch out for the dribble though if you turn it too far sideways, I use a cotton sock on it's 'bum' as a nappy! :D

Now we have an A-class it will most definitely be needed so we've put the large blade on ours (it came with both), it also has a plastic shower screen so it will be useful to keep that dry too ... not sure I'd risk using it to suck up Romy's 'piddle accidents' though!

Hubby is so paranoid that the one for the MH might go kaput (even though its working perfectly) that he's insisting we take BOTH with us when we go away!

Quite a few different models/variations on Amazon - is the premium a lot better?

When we've looked in the past the more expensive models, other than some having a cosmetic change and maybe a better battery life, they usually just had extras like 2 interchangeable blades, spare blade rubbers, spray bottle etc ... you just need to check what's included and decide what bits you need/don't need. Also look on Ebay as you can often find them on there a lot cheaper and also Karcher used to do an online outlet for stuff, maybe a google search will find it.

OMG yet another thread I have read and thought that will come in handy for when. In this case we are just stopping somewhere for one night and don't want to put the silver screen on the van. Great thanks op, that's the wife's Christmas pressie sorted :)

This is the 10th anniversary edition complete with two suction heads. It's our wedding anniversary next week so I might buy it for the wife, so she can lend it to me :)

For around £45 It claims to have 40% more runtime but reviewers have complained that it's difficult to empty

Or there's the premium for around £55 again with two suction heads

Or the regular for around £35

I am not sure

On our enormous windscreen we use it inverted and bottom to top which avoids this problem and avoids water runs into the scuttle.

Great bit of kit. W/S cleared in 1-2 mins.

I stopped using mine for the windscreen as it was worse than useless when I started to tilt it, to reach the area closer to the dashboard, spraying water everywhere.

Not once did I think it might be better fully inverted  I think it might be time to dig it back out and give it another go !

I wouldn’t pay £20 extra for the second head. My smaller head was around £7 on eBay.

I think the Anniversary version is copy of the WV5 which has longer battery life and can clean more windows on 1 charge. Just have to decide if that and the extra head are worth £20

Ah, it could be worth the extra for more battery life. Particularly if you are going without hookup for a while.

Yes, I can leave the battery charger in the house. Another thing I don't have to take out.

We just use a small inverter to charge ours up, it lasts a LONG time anyway though.

Best bet is to do the bottom bit first, then empty it (assuming it's got a fair bit in), then do the rest, once you get the hang of it you'll do it without thinking.

We have a karcher vacuum. Good bit of kit, will clean the windscreen in the van of condensation. Will also clean the windows at home. I just use clean water on the window, works well.

This morning was the first chance to try my window vac fully inverted and the verdict is..... it’s still sprays water everywhere :xangry: As soon as there’s the smallest amount of water in the chamber, it starts spraying out through the motor vents. I had to empty it 4 times just to clear the screen this morning.

What it needs is a head attachment on a short length of flexible hose, so the vac can be held upright, while the head is used to clear the screen.

One day I might get time to have a look at making one, but until then, mine will be removed from the van again, once I’m home after Christmas.

Yes I am surprised Karcher have not made one with 3D printing it would not take a lot of effort
Like yours ours sprays water everywhere if not upright.
