Just as a comparison which may interest you.
£29000 Low profile MH.
£355 with Comfort including European recovery and breakdown and 8000 miles.
£349 last year but with 6000 miles.

Other quotes:-
Saga , £1088  They seemed to struggle with it's storage in a Cassoa compound , away from home.
Onesure, broker in Stoke on Trent , via LV , £300 but with no recovery and breakdown.
Advance , via Gocompare , £361 including european recovery and breakdown.

Waited for NFU to call me back which they didn't.

All quotes roughly comparable on excess , windscreen cover etc. and days spent abroad.

All in all not too bad , happy with Comfort, however adding extra miles jacks the premium up noticeably. (y)

Comfort wanted to almost double my premium when I moved house. In the end they offered me a different policy which worked out ok. Unless you ask you only get given the one price. I like comfort.

Chat on radio 4 the other day about renewing car insurance said you often get a better quote if you start shopping around a few weeks before renewal date. Apparently it gives the impression that you are organised and reponsible:D

Shop around each year but never found anyone near the price from Comfort.

Even with Safeguard who then offered a free Green Card for Morocco it was still cheaper to go with COmfort and pay £250 for the extra cover.

I’ve renewed with Comfort today - premium went up under £3. Their breakdown provider has changed (now DAS/AA) but still okay over 3.5 t, I rang to check.

C and CC were £50 less than Comfort for us this year, pretty much like last year.

Does that include European Breakdon cover ? Well for the time being anyway

Yes ADAC cover sounds really good, but they don't do UK cover anymore as far as I know.

I didn't know Comfort would quote without European cover.......................but for £50 extra....how much do you pay for ADAC

Just had my renewal notification from Comfort and it's gone up all of £2.60! Think I'll stay put.
£315.34 and £62 of that is European breakdown cover.

ADAC will renew your breakdown but won’t take new customers from UK.
We have just renewed.

Just a note for those who want to go further afield:

I renewed with Saga A class (£50K) 8000 miles, unlimited glass £325

but I got 60 days Morocco cover for £25 total, I believe comfort are £25/week

Just talked to Comfort. I need exactly your policy cover but it will cost me £404.29.
North Derbyshire village and the van is kept on the drive next to my house.
Why is that?

Don't really know, although the main difference is that mine is kept in a Cassoa compound and yours alongside the house.
Additionally, I can't see that the postcodes by themselves would account for that much difference.

How have your other quotes worked out?

As I said Saga seemed to struggle with the storage in a compound , asking all sorts of questions about "was it checked each day" and such. They quoted me £1088 and then asked if they were anywhere close!

Postcodes will make a difference and you only need to move from one postcode area to another for it to change by quite a bit.

For example I used to live PE22 band C, yet MIL 5 mile up the road PE21 band A.

Broken Link Removed

Just renewed with SAGA , actually went down from last year as legal cover half price !
cost £215 without breakdown which I have just renewed with ADAC £94 partner plus.
I like SAGA as they let me pay quarterly at no extra charge .

Comfort with Aviva
£35000 cover
8000 miles
European Breakdown
Cassoa Gold
DN Postcode

Had my renewal premium quoted by Comfort £400 with European breakdown cover. Up almost £70 on last year, but I had to make a claim for third party damages for an accident whilst I was driving my daughter's car. Comfort were great with my claim. Cheapest other quote is from BG at £250 without recovery, or being covered to to drive another vehicle. I will stay with Comfort, as I have had a positive experience of how they deal with a claim (I found out the hard way!!).

Been with Safegaurd for 3 years £523 stored at a Cassoa site, Comfort want £320 with it parked at home. Admittedly with 4K miles limit which is probably all we will manage this year sadly and I think Safegaurd is unlimited which is why I went for them initially as I did not have a clue how many miles we would do.
