Just checking! Are we allowed to go out in our MH for day trips on 8 March to have a picnic? (Not in our local area)! (1 Viewer)

Seems picnics are allowed, does this mean the end of essential travel on 8 March?

Where did you get that from? Doesn’t seem to align with what’s been mapped out.

So we are allowed a local picnic in our MH.

  • you will be allowed to spend time in outdoor public spaces for recreation on your own, with one other person, or with your household or support bubble. This means you can sit down for a drink or picnic. You must continue to maintain social distance from those outside your household. This is in addition to outdoor exercise, which is already permitted.
Edit
Possibly up to 7 miles away?

Closest I can find to an answer , is you ‘can’ meet one other person outside and sit with a drink

still local as far as I interpret , where do you read it any differently 🤔

Yes, I agree, we can go for a local picnic. No harm in going out then, especially if we find local isolated spots for a bite to eat and a dog walk.

Bit different to going for a daytrip in the motorhome :whistle2:.
Stay at home - but yes, you can take a sandwich on your walk.

That’s the summary info & doesn’t make sense.
1. You CAN be outside with your bubble, household or one other person.
2. But if they’re NOT part of your household maintain social distancing.
So sit or stand 2m away while you eat or drink 🤔

No wonder there’s always wriggle room 😡

No!

"Stay at home" still applies

Even after 29th March - "stay local" will apply
From Gov web site
From Monday 29 March 2021
  • Six people or two households are allowed to meet up outside for leisure purposes
  • Outdoor sports activities can resume and outdoor sports facilities can reopen
  • Travel outside of your local area is permitted

The roadmap detail doesn’t mention picnics for the 8th and suggests 29th March is when there’s some social easing for Easter 🤪 it’s a mess.

Monday 29th of March is when the legislation in England changes concerning non essential travel and stay at home requirements. Up until that date you risk a £200 fixed penalty (each) if a police officer considers your journey non-essential.

From 29th March, there is 'guidance' (ie not legislation) asking that any travel is undertaken locally, where possible.

And from 12 April, nights away from home in self-contained holiday accommodation are allowed within England.

Where is this quoted from? I can't find it in the official Gov document.
