Just say sorry I didn’t know that and I won’t do it again. Everyone happy then!

Perhaps you should have asked if she would mind standing behind your van while you reversed a little bit more ...

Did she say what the reason for them was? They might be there to allow the overhang of a motorhome to be able to park
Just saying :giggle: :giggle: :giggle: :giggle: :giggle: :giggle: :giggle: :giggle: :giggle:

I had a grumpy old gite tell me a could not park on the grass.
As it would make the grass go yellow it was my overhang.
And max stay was 90 minutes.
When a did not move he went in to the super market.
And complained I was damaging the grass
When I got to the van my self and the manager had a good laugh 🤣 about it

Drove into the carpark at Tesco in Dorchester. Very majestic looking with fountains, however nothing but low hanging branches all over the carpark. Could have done with that old lady telling me not to park there. Sadly there was just the voice in my head scolding myself as the branches drag over the roof exiting

If they’re rude and an ar** My response is. Sorry I didn’t recognise your uniform. That normally shouts them up

We always park right at the end of any car park we use, even the really grumpy ones probably wouldn’t bother to walk that far 😁
Not at Aldi they won't..... In Hythe Waitrose they like to park in the motorcycle bay as it is near the trolley park... Number plate obscured to protect the lazy arrogant clown that owns it. The two spaces to the left were empty as was most of the rest of the car park.

To be fair - most Aldis don't haved dedicated access for delivery lorries, and HGVs therefore have to reverse up to the unloading bay within the customer car park. The hatched lines you often see in an Aldi carpark is to allow them to reverse into the bay and subsequently get out again.

Not quite sure why it is any of the lady's business in the OPs situation, unless of course she was trying to be helpful. Just a thought.

Must be something in the air.

Yesterday I was giving the van a wash outside my house. Lived here for 30 years, say Hello to all that passes whilst cutting the grass, washing the car etc. We only get about 20 pedestrians passing a day……

This Gentlemen, probably in his early 70’s, was nearing the back of the van….I said, ‘Good Morning, lovely day’.

The reply……’Why is your vehicle blocking the footpath (just over 2 metres between the back of the van and the gates of my property, which is wider than the footpath further down the road) get it moved.

I just said, ‘Good morning, have a nice day’ and turned my back on him.

Can’t be bothered with grumpy people. ;)

Can't tolerate gobshites like her .
Usual retort ..."is it affecting you?, you appear to be parked already."
Then just walk away.

Any one who parks in a bike bay just lean the bike up against the car.

Some people are real pains, we have 3 children, when they were small Matthew had to spend a long time in a wheelchair due to a painful hip problem which he eventually grew out of thank goodness. Mornings could be a bit stressful dropping our 3 at the childminders before school and then off to work. One morning I overlapped the very wide pavement by a bit whilst I struggled to get toddler, buggy, wheelchair plus carry 7 year old into house. Pompous prat pointed out my error, stressed local GP told him to “f… off” , unfortunately I had quite an audience that day!

Wow. You are a paradigm of restraint.
If there were other spaces in the car park, I would have been far ruder.

Grumpy old lady in our local town car park, she lives In the grace-and-favour cottages at the side of it, and thinks she is a traffic warden. I went to get some replacement gas cylinders at the end of the day, accessing the rear door of the hardware store. Gave me the evil eye in a big way. I smiled sweetly, but would have been a grumpy old man if she'd said something! The car park was empty, she must have thought I was overnighting. I was, but in my home a half mile away.

An astonishingly large number of otherwise respectable people have no tolerance towards those less able than they are.

The SEN school bus stops outside our house while the boys get on board, as they don't understand the danger. It sometimes holds people up for as much as twenty seconds. At least once a week some tosspot beeps his horn.

We're aren't exactly causing an "Insulate Britain" level obstruction here.
