Hi,

Just to let you know that the shopping part of our website is down due to a fire last night at the web hosters.

The server is only smoke damaged and is being moved to Johns Cross on Monday when we hope to be back on line.:thumb:

Crikey! :Eeek:

If it's not hackers taking down websites it's natural disasters

Are you insured against loss of business in these circumstances?

Taking the server to John's Cross premises? Are you sure that there is enough bandwidth there? You may find that it runs too slow to be usable Peter. Unless you have an SDSL service of course.

Hope you have it back up soon :thumb:

Just a thought Peter, it may be an idea to get your hosting company to point your shop url at a holding page with details of what happened.

Better for your customers to see that, than not get anything...

Hi Bryan,

Yes they are working on that plus an alternative hosting site so hopefully it will get sorted:thumb:

Websites back up and running!

Now thats what I call service and expertise.

Fire at 6-30pm Friday night at website hosters offices.

Notified them of non availability 10am Saturday (they knew)

Sunday 3-30pm full functioning website!

How,

all done from Paul's (programmer) home internet connection,
accessed Johns Cross server at Robertsbridge, transfered all the files over to us, reprogrammed Protx to accept c/cd payments (not easy)
reset all the links we have floating about in cyberworld pointing to us ete etc etc plus all the other coding required.
Exemplary service in my view, very very few software houses will get off their backsides at the weekend and also be capable of doing this.
So if any one wants a bl**dy good software house, please PM me.:thumb:

Credit where credit is due ! really good to have a good review of a company instead of bad reviews. :thumb:
Glad you are back up and running Peter.
