Unfortunately, it isn't just Apple that have dropped it. Some Samsung devices have stopped too.

The early Google Pixel phones didn't have a jack-plug socket, but they've returned on later models.

So there wasn't one on my old Pixel 2, but there is on my newer Pixel 4a. And my kids have each taken delivery of Pixel 6s, released last week, and they've got them too.

I have a headphone jack on my phone, but never use it. Bluetooth earpieces work very well for me.

I'd even forgotten my phone used to have a Jack socket, it must be 10 years since I used one. Bluetooth is so convenient.

Will they though? Who uses lossless audio formats on their phone? Can't be many, most of us are streaming anyway.

I have that. The issue then is I can’t plug my car charger in too. I like to have my wired headphones in while I drive as they are so much better than any Bluetooth I’ve ever tried. I also run the nav so it drinks the battery.

Make sure you don’t look distracted. There’ll be a cop wanting Tom give you a “driving without due care and attention” or “careless driving” ticket if you do look distracted.

Would this adapter work? I've not used it myself but remembered seeing it when i was looking for something else

Probably but the most recent reviews all say shocking audio quality and or crackling and white noise.

Shame really.
