@scotzsue - Sue I bought one recently as I thought it would be a nice winter hobby to learn to play. I too have small hands and there is no way I will ever be able to get the F chord!! I’ve managed the C and the A but that is my limit!! How are you getting on?
I’m thinking of selling and buying a drum pad instead!! Lol

Part of the problem might be that you are turning the instrument upwards to watch your fingers. With experience you can hold it pointing forwards, and then it's not such a contortion to do a bar chord.Physically can’t get my first finger to reach the A string when having to arch my hand so much to reach the G string without interfering with the C string!!!

@Janine is right. I sat for ages when starting out trying to play chords and thinking, "how can you ever get your fingers in position for that let alone move them quickly enough for the next chord. The answer lies in repetition. Think back to when you learned to drive, it seemed impossible to co-ordinate it all but, with time you get the hang of it. You don't have to look down to find the clutch or look at the gear lever any more.
