These pics are when we left the UK in 1980, and toured Europe for two years, until we decided to settle where we are now.

Your van looks like one of the characters from 'Cars' - I imagine it would have got on really well with Fillmore:

Hi, Frentchy

What lovely photos and what an amazing experience for your children, spending two years travelling. It was a very brave decision that you made.

That Winnie was brand new in 79/80. Was it yours or did you rent it?

:cooler:
I think it was a (1976?) Winnebago Brave when I bought it. I changed the petrol engine and auto box, for a ford D and 5 speed Manuel box,It drank more than me!!(well....nearly:drink:)

Must admit , jealous, but would never have thought of doing the same myself then. Good on you:xsmile:

Noticed it was on a V plate 79/80 so assumed it was new. That model was from 75 to 79.

Yeah, we started a building business -renovation-new- pools and general excavation-demolition stuff, that plods along nicely. our Daughter (a mobile Nurse ) married a Fireman (a Rugby friend of my Sons) and has two Sons both Rugby Men. Our Son married a Waitress who worked at Merignac Airport who is now running the campsite we have just acquired,(affectionately known as "Commandant," and also has Two Sons,(who are involved in the Business) and also Rugby Men, (my wife is not so delighted, No Grand daughters!!) I just give orders now, and everyone just ignores them:)

Got one of them, repainted it in the original colour too, think it was "Antilope Beige" did a chassis off restoration, new glass all the way around, looks good too:)
