Came away for a week without my key for fresh water tank. Depending on bottled water for everything. Whats the gizmo to the right of the water fill in this image? Anything to do with water? Thanks.

It's a socket for a Whale Superfil submersible pump. You can use it to power a pump to move water from a container into your tank .... but you still have to remove the cap! :(

I usually fill through the internal hatch, thereis a kinkin the filer tube and it takes ages, even when a fellow funster lends their hose thanks Wendo55 John uses watering can, and now have a flexi extender on that which helps, I would need to get on a ladder to hold it high enough to fill easily :ROFLMAO: We use bottled water, filling on site, for drinking, although we sometimes buy a new 5L water if our old container gives up the ghost.

Pretty much got the hang of it now!
The socket next to the filler is for a 12v external pump to fill the tank from a portable container. The socket is operated from your control panel. (I only found out after rewiring the socket as I thought it was faulty!) On my Autotrail you have to scroll through the menu until you select the External Pump option only then will the socket have power. Whale plugs and pumps are very expensive (aren't all spares for motorhome/caravans)keep an
eye out for a second hand one or alternative.

You can should be able fill your tank through the drain tap.
Never seen much point in a locking filler and no lock on the drain.

On a partly related note, I have heard of one owner who lent their motorhome to someone who filled up through the water filler .... with diesel.

My fresh water tank locking filler cap is useless, sometimes it feels like its locked and I press it in and turn it wiggle it about a bit and it springs off.
If yours is anything like mine you might be able to press it in and turn it backwards or forwards and it'll come off, otherwise a similar key as someone else posted might just release it.

Does the lock have a key code number written on it? Find it and a locksmith in the area your staying in. Alternatively phone a mobile locksmith.....

I bought a couple of 10lt collapsible containers from Poundland (cheapskate) and when the water gets low and I don’t want to move on site I top up using the acess to the tank from inside the MoHo. Its easy and works for me.

Sorry to hijack the post but this is related.
Filling up today put hose into filler hole the attachment got wedged in the hole and I couldn’t budge it so eventually pushed it into the tank where it will stay for ever bobbing about!
No internal access to water tank which would have been handy.
Lessoned learned you don’t need attachments on both ends!😂

The first camper we bought had had that done to it ... it was a Commer Autosleeper Pop-top, one owner from new with 52,000 miles on ... it was lovely and the fresh water tank was the only thing we were never able to use on it.
